Books

One of the goals is to read 100 books this year, so here is the list....

1. Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks (how could I have not read that already, superb! and no I haven't seen the movie)
2. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson (again, how could I have not read this yet?)
3. Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (inspiring, empowering, yet so heartbreaking)
4. The Bridges of Madison County (a re-read that I love dearly)
5. Worst Case by James Patterson
6. Still Alice by Lisa Genova (read in two nights, I couldn't put it down)
7. When Rabbit Howls by Truddi Chase (and the 'troops'...... - a psychological must read!)
8. Better Together by Robert Putnam and Lewis Feldstein
9. Smashed by Koren Zailckas (This book sucks balls.  Don't bother.)
10. Lies my Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen (Fantastic!)
11. The Sociopath Next Door by Martha Stout, Ph.D. (I love criminal psychology, fascinating stuff - the book was so-so)
12. See Poverty - Be The Difference by Dr. Donna Beegle (Read for a community book club then went to a presentation by the author, it was ok....  I like Ruby K. Payne better as a leading expert on poverty)
13. With Malice by Rachel Lee
14. Big Girl by Danielle Steel (such a good book, very fun read!)
15. Your Heart Belongs to me by Dean Koontz
16. The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson (Fabulous!)
17. The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell
18. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest by Stieg Larsson

  1. might I suggest...

The Curious Incident of The Dog In the Nighttime - Mark Haddon.
An Abundance of Katherines - John Green
Ten Little Indians - Sherman Alexie ***** SO GOOD.

They're all pretty quick reads. :)

  2. A couple Suggestions:

Anything by Christopher Moore, especially 'The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove' and 'Fool'

    Chuck Pahliniak, especially 'Haunted'

Suspense novels by Lisa Gardener and Erica Spindler (anything by either)

And, if you want a little trashy romance brain candy, I cannot recommend Linda Howard enough (great actual stories mixed into the smut, lol).
